First off: I’m a bit new to WordPress and Event Espresso. I’m a volunteer helping with a center for the arts website. I started helping about a week ago.
Okay, enough background, here’s the problem I’d like to solve: is there a way to have an event list on one page of the website that includes classes that have started and the registration is still open and on another page of the same site, have the list only include classes that haven’t started?
The program director likes to keep the registration open because classes don’t always fill up and she’d like people to be able to join midway. However, she hates that the list on the front page labelled “Upcoming Events” includes events that have already started.
Note: this code is currently active as a separate plugin on the site.
One idea that you could explore is load that code conditionally where you have it only one a page template, then on that page use the [ESPRESSSO_EVENTS] shortcode. I didn’t test this idea just now, but I seem to remember it’s possible to run the posts_ filters from within a page template and it worked.
