Hello

We’re trying to upgrade our site to using EE4 however are running into some problems in regards to flow and functionality.

1) We’d like the event lists to look and act like our existing site: Please see an example here:
https://ebcouncil.com/collaboration-calls/

*redacted*

… however it’s currently defaulting to this: https://ebcouncil.solasus.com/test-ebc-collaboration-calls/

What appears to be missing / different is:
Would like full title displayed
Event details / description missing
“See attendees” link
Direct link to “Register”

If this is not an “out of the box” configuration from EE3, then I’m guessing that there may be a custom template somewhere. If so can you assist in creating / implementing this?

2) When we do get to a “Registration Checkout” page, we’re seeing a “WE’RE SORRY… This is a system page for displaying transaction information after a purchase….” Message, I’m guessing that this is due to the fact that it’s a “free” event. Is there any way to suppress that message or is there something else that needs to be addressed?

Thank you in advance!
Pam

Hi,

Much of what you’re looking for can be set in the Event Espresso > Events > Templates settings. For example, to show event details/description you’ll set Display Description to “full description”. Setting “Display Ticket Selector” to Yes will allow for a direct path to registration.

With regards to a full title displaying, EE4 will display the full title of the event.

The See attendees link would be an example of a custom template & custom development to build out an attendee list page for each event. We’re not set up for doing one-off customizations, but you can get a quote from one of the developers at codeable.io.

With regards to the message on the Registration Checkout page, that’s actually caused by having the wrong shortcodes on that page. The only shortcode that should be on that page is
[ESPRESSO_CHECKOUT]
it appears that 3 other shortcodes are on that page, and those need to be removed. After those are removed you can add 3 pages, one each to hold the other shortcodes. If you go to Event Espresso > General Settings > Critical Pages you’ll find specific instructions for setting up each critical page, along with links to edit and select pages that have the shortcodes.

Hello Josh – Thank you for the prompt and helpful response. We were able to solve most of the issues with your suggestions!

One question remains(or new): it appears that the Event Dates / Times are not populating next to the calendar and time icons (see: https://ebcouncil.solasus.com/ebc-collaboration-calls/). Any thoughts…?

Thank you in advance!

That’s very strange that the dates and times are missing there. My first thought would be was there a custom function added to override the
espresso_list_of_event_dates function? Normally the dates and times would display there.
