Event list page is labeled "archive"

I have read through the forums and found several solutions from over the past 3 years regarding the issue of the “/events” page conflicting with a site page of the same name. However, even upon the deletion of the site page, the problem remains — that being, http://www…/events still shows “Archives” as a page heading. I have also read that in order to change this, you have to change your slug. But, if you have already promoted a number of events, changing the slug changes the URL you have already potentially sent out and/or advertised for each event. Is there any other workaround for this “automated” heading. Of course, the widget we use in our home page sidebar doesn’t have this problem.

Installed: EE 4.8.32p, WP 4.4.2

Hi there,

I don’t know where you read that changing the slug is the way to fix this, but it’s not true.

The Archive label is added by your WordPress theme. To remove it, you remove the code from your theme that adds that label.
