Hello, after completing a Event Form and clicking submit It loops me back to the Event form. It should take me to my Paypal checkout.

Hi there,

It looks like the shortcode in use on the event-registration page has been changed to a be for a specific event.

If you go to the link you posted:

https://saskbjj.ca/event-registration/?ee=23

That’s the checkout page and it’s passing the event ID with the ee parameter, the checkout page displays the relevant form for the specific event passed to it.

Now lets go the same page with a random event id:

https://saskbjj.ca/event-registration/?ee=987569841

That page should not still display a registration form, the above doesn’t exist so should be showing an error of some sort.

That means that the page isn’t using the correct shortcode and has been set to load a specific event, edit the page and check the shortcode in use, it should be:

[ESPRESSO_EVENTS]

If it is anything else it is incorrect, update the page to use the above and retest, does it work?

Ok, I replace the short code with [ESPRESSO_EVENTS]

When I browse to the Event Registration page it take me to last years event.

How do I get it to show the new registration page?
https://saskbjj.ca/event-registration/?ee=27

Also when I did a preview after updating the Registration page it displays all events on one page. I’m having complete brain fart here.

Thank you for your help on this.

I was to fix it! I have no idea why I would edit the Event Registration page.

RESOLVED!

Thank you!

Just to give you some info:

/event-registration/ is one of EE3’s ‘critical pages’, it dynamically outputs the correct form/details/checkout based on the event ID passed to it (which is why it needs just that shortcode above).

When no event ID is passed to it, it shows you current event list (the idea being that it can be used as a full event list until the user submits a selection) which is why you’re seeing the older event (I’m guessing it was still open based on registration dates).

You ‘can’ have individual pages for displaying a single events registration page if that’s what you want to do, but you still need that ‘event-registration’ page to be used for the checkout process (the single page can start the registration and it will then direct the user to the dynamic page).

For that you use different shortcodes on another page, I can add details on that if you want to do it that way?
