Is the EE plugin compatible with a Multisite (formerly WordPress µ) environment? i.e., can one instance of the EE plugin be used and licensed for multiple sites, or are we restricted to single installs of WordPress for each site that we would like to use EE with? We are planning on using it with multiple websites in the long run and are looking for ways to streamline our set up as much as possible.
Event Espresso wasn’t really built to be used with Multi-site. There are a few things that do not work in a multi-site network. One being: If there are changes made to the templates in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates, these will apply to all the sites. Another being: the ticketing add-on doesn’t work with a multi-site set up.
You might want to look into a solution like manageWP, where it’s still single sites, but more streamlined.
Thanks for your feedback. We actually do want all the the sites to use the same templates the first point would be beneficial. Do you have a list of all the supported/unsupported features or plugins in MU that we could check our needs against, by any chance? Thank you.
@josh: From what I’ve discovered from testing, the only part of the ticketing that doesn’t work with WPMU, is the mobile apps. I’ve setup a subsite with the WordPress MU Domain Mapping, and I can purchase and print tickets. I’m assuming the issue with apps is that since the espresso-services folder is in the root, it likely would only work with the root domain/site.
