Hello,
We periodically get these emails from WordPress. Our website guys told us to send this to you to see if you can assist. Fortunately, our website is currently not being effected by this. Thank you for your assistance,
Laura

Howdy!

WordPress has a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, Event Espresso.

** REMOVED **

Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.

If your site appears broken and you can’t access your dashboard normally, WordPress now has a special “recovery mode”. This lets you safely login to your dashboard and investigate further.

** REMOVED **

To keep your site safe, this link will expire in 1 day. Don’t worry about that, though: a new link will be emailed to you if the error occurs again after it expires.

When seeking help with this issue, you may be asked for some of the following information:
WordPress version 6.4.2
Active theme: JupiterX Child (version 1.0.0)
Current plugin: Event Espresso (version 5.0.11.p)
PHP version 8.2.12

Hi there,

So that error is stating that you have a registration ‘related’ to an event with the ID 15923 but when EE tries to pull in that event it doesn’t exist.

That usually means something/someone has deleted the event from the database outside of Event Espresso (EE) itself. EE wont allow you to delete just an event from the database and then have orphaned data (like the registration in question) connected to it still remaining in the DB.

When you get this error, does the ID change at all? This part:

Next RuntimeException: Page route “_event_registrations_list_table” with the supplied arguments () threw the following exception: The requested entity with Event ID=”15923″ was not found.

Is that ID always the same?

Hello,
I am not sure what exactly you mean. We have deleted various events in Event Espresso.
My tech guys did not know what you mean by “does the ID change at all?”
thank you

We have deleted various events in Event Espresso.

So somewhere is a registration that is from an event that has been deleted, so when EE tries to load the registration and pull in the event for it, it now can’t find it. When that happens the above error is thrown.

My tech guys did not know what you mean by “does the ID change at all?”

When the error is thrown, its shows an Event ID, I highlighted that in my reply:

Next RuntimeException: Page route “_event_registrations_list_table” with the supplied arguments () threw the following exception: The requested entity with Event ID=”15923″ was not found.

Thats a detail from within the error message you posted.

So I’m asking if that Event ID is always 15923 when you get this error, or if it changes each time.

Hello
I checked the last three error emails and they were Event ID 15923
How do we find the registration and fix the issue?
Thank you

Ok, so on the site go to Event Espresso -> Events -> {hover over any event name} -> Registrations. Once you click that you’ll see a list of registrations for that specific event (it doesn’t matter which event you use, this is just to get us on the correct page so we can load the registrations linked to the above event).

Now, in the address bar of your browser you’ll see something like:

{domain}/wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_registrations&event_id=XXXX&action=default&default_nonce=*****

Where mine is &event_id=XXXX you’ll have an event id, change that to be 15923, so it’ll be ...&event_id=15923..., leave everything else in your address bar as it was and press enter.

Now EE should try and show a list of registrations specifically for that Event ID, what do you see now?

What is shown is a registration for a class. I tried to cancel the registration but I received an error message that there is a critical problem with our page.
In the registration, the event is not available (meaning you can’t click on it) so this is the registration without an event.

Ok, create a database backup before you move forward jus to be safe.

Your host will usually have a method for you to do this or you can use something like Updraft:

https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/

(The free version will do this just fine)

When you get to the above page, rather than cancelling the registration, are you able to trash it by clicking the checkbox and then selecting Trash Registrations in the bulk options and clicking Apply?

The registration can not be trashed. It is locked.
I received the following message: “This lock icon means that this registration cannot be trashed. Registrations that belong to a transaction that has payments cannot be trashed. If you wish to trash this registration then you must delete all payments attached tot eh related transaction first..”

Ok, so click on the Reg Date for the registration to view the transaction.

In the transaction details does it have a payment object? If so that needs to be deleted.

This section: https://monosnap.com/file/rIzw7vJWXtSPeZ7JOhfQ3E3QoqESvA

Once the payment object have been deleted retry trashing the registration.

Not sure what you mean by a payment object that I should delete?

Do the steps here: https://eventespresso.com/topic/event-espresso-plug-in-error-message/#post-350792

To list the registration again.

Click on the ‘Reg Date’ value, like this:

https://monosnap.com/file/X4oze10hzhpF4wOil3759pd8PsQv03

That takes you to the EE Transaction for the Registration.

Any payment objects linked to the transaction will be listed in the payment details:

https://monosnap.com/file/rEwxsUQMSLoYWOsklAetnn14NifVxi

So there I have 1 payment object assigned to the transaction (you can have more than 1).

Each of those need to be deleted by clicking on the trash icon before a registration can be trashed.

Hello,
Yes, I have done all the steps above and found the registration. The issue is that I do not have any payment details listed.
It has a box that says Transaction details: and under this it states: “there has been a critical error on this website” and does not list any transaction details.

Hmmm ok, I’m going to need to take a deeper look at this.

Can you send over all of the requested details on this form:

https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

Side note, I need to add some code to the site to pull in the details for the registration that the UI will not allow, so FTP credentials are required here.

Hello,
It has been a week, I am just checking in to see if you have made any progress?
thank you

Hi there,

I can’t see any form submissions with your credentials, did you submit the above form?

Apologies, scratch that, found them in spam.

I think the comment section caused the form to be flagged as suspicious.

So I’ve just tried logging into the to take a look but the username provided shows as not registered on the site, can you recheck the WP User account details, please?

(Note – the FTP credentials work fine)
