WP – Version 3.6.1
Event Registration and Ticketing Powered by Event Espresso – 3.1.35.P
http://otffeo.on.ca/en/learning/otf-connects/calendar/

Hi,
There are two places where we can use email
1) in WP in Settings, General (This address is used for admin purposes)
2) in Event Espresso Settings (Primary contact email:)

I did some testing and it is very strange what is happening and I hope you might give us some hints where to look and how to fix it.

Basically, we would like to use email address otfongoingsupport@otffeo.on.ca

It looks like Event Espresso works fine with my personal email chris.wspanialy@otffeo.on.ca but I have to put it into both places 1) and 2) otherwise it is not working if those emails do not match.
So, when I use otfongoingsupport@otffeo.on.ca email in both places Event Espresso would not send emails to otfongoingsupport@otffeo.on.ca and also not to user who is registering like @google.ca

Please let me know if you have any idea what is going on and how to fix it.

Thanks

EE ignores the WP admin email setting and uses the EE settings contact email or the “alternate email address” field if it is set on a per-event basis. Most likely, the emails are ending up in the spam folder of the non-personal email address that you are trying to use. You might want to try testing with a plugin like WP SMTP set up to use a google.com email address to send out the emails. That way a copy of all outgoing emails ends up in the outbox of that google.com email address, which might make it easier to track down where the problem is occuring.

It turned out that there was Inbox Rule to forward Event Espresso notification emails to a folder that did not exist.
After removing the rule all worked as expected

Thanks
Chris
