Having issues with event espresso and short codes not working. Like the transactions page is empty. Goto http://www.registerevent.biz/transactions/
with the shortcode [ESPRESSO_TXN_PAGE] is displayed empty.

I have recently upgraded the domain to a multisite, but eventespresso license still remains on the original domain called http://www.registerevent.biz. Other pages like event listing works but then i cant process transactions after confirm registration…

Please help…

Hello Hennie,

Have you checked the General Settings to make sure the correct pages are allocated? e.g. http://d.pr/i/iMIJ the pages should also have the shortcodes on them.

From what you linked, the Transactions page seems not to exist at all, normally if you go there it should say a message similar to “The event id is unknown” (as that page shouldn’t be accessed directly). As it is not showing that the page seems to be missing.

Hi Dean

Thank you for the response.

I have setup the general options like http://d.pr/i/ltbH
and also the shortcodes is also setup in the page http://d.pr/i/UQv0

I sometimes get the page loaded, but it displays the shortcode [ESPRESSO_TXN_PAGE] in the body, like event espresso doesn’t pick it up and convert to the correct info. And other times its black.

Not sure what is causing it or if i ruined event espresso…

Is it possible to get your login details in order to look into this?

If so, please send them via https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

NOTE: login details need to be Admin level.

Thanks Dean

I have send the details for you, please let me know if there is anything else….

(Not sure, but let me mention this. I had setup issues regarding the multisite installation. Follow it exactly like the instructions and it worked, execpt when i created a subdomain, there was nothing. My host said it had something to do with the original website that was installed as www. and some wildcard redirect…)

Hi Hennie,

I have not changed anything on your site as I was unsure if you wanted me to.

The following pages have been set to Private, as such the plugin can’t “see” them so you are having problems:

Thank you
Transactions
Event Registration

If you change these to public pages that should resolve the issue.

I have tried it before and had them as public, but still had the issue.

I have changed it to public now, and it still loads as blank.

Hi Hennie,

OK I went back in and tried makign the pages public with no joy either. The two pages in question Thank you and Transactions are not fully loading so there must be some sort of conflict occurring.

I think its time for you to try deactivating your plugins and theme and bringing them back one by one to test if it is a plugin/theme issue causing this problem.

It could also be due to the multisite system, but though Event Espresso isnt designed for multisite, I dont think it is that in this case.

Dean – thanks for the time you spend on the issue. It is greatly appreciated.

I will do as you suggested and see if i can get to the bottum of this – will keep you posted…

Ok i deactivated all plugins, and the page loaded with the shortcode and the edit function. As soon as i load event espresso plugin – it stalls again…

Was Event Espresso the only plugin active at the time? Or was there other plugins active as well?

How is Event Espresso added to the network? Is it on the admin site only and network activated or on the individual site? Im not well versed in multisite but it could be a factor.

I found the problem – if i disable paypal in the payment gateways it reactives the pages that wasnt working…. Now we need to find the reason why paypal is crashing the page load…..

Actually both my payfast and Paypal accounts prevents the page loads… I have this error message on both the plugins… is there a problem here as i do have a business license… [removed link as contains secure info]

OK, well theres the issue then.

Looking at your site it seems to be pointing to the PayFast module, as with PayPal on the transaction etc pages appear.

We don’t formally support the PayFast module as we did not write it, PayFast did themselves.

Dean – thank you for you help. It certainly pointed me in the right direction…

Dont know where to start here… Just want to know if the screen shot with the ipn normal? or is it an error…?

Hi Hennie,

It may be that the PayFast module was derived from the PayPal module, so when both are active, there may be some functions/classes that are clashing. You may be able to pinpoint this by turning on WordPress debugging (wp_debug) in the wp-config file.
