I have the ticketing add on. I tested the scanning in app Event Espresso HD and it keeps kicking me off when scanning QR ticket from event, please help.

I am able to log in, click event, but when I scan the qr code, it loads and says downloading ticket data and then it kicks me out to the main page with an error message “Credentials mismatch. Check Login ID or password”
My account is admin.

I tested it on another phone, and same result. I have Event Espresso – 4.10.0.p and wordPress Version 5.2.2.

Hi,

You’ll actually need to install the app that’s compatible with Event Espresso 4, which is this one:

https://apps.apple.com/app/id1095432613

The Event Espresso HD app is compatible only with the older (legacy) Event Espresso 3 sites.

So not the HD app then. OK.

Your site appears to have the WordFence plugin installed. There was a report where someone had the Failed Log in attempts option set to 3, in WordFence. They changed the setting to 10 and that fixed the issue for them.

If the above doesn’t apply to your site, then you could try deactivating any other security/authentication plugins activated on the site to check whether they’re interfering or not.

I am able to log in and see my event and attendees. the app works just fine. It only kicks me off when i try to scan a qr code from a ticket.

Understood, and you’ve already mentioned this twice in your first comments here. Did you understand my reply about checking your Wordfence settings and/or for a plugin conflict?

Hey Josh,

yes i changed the failed login attempts to 10 and deactivated all security plugins

same output, no matter if i scan qr, or click check in, it kicks me off the app to the main login page

If you’ve ruled out all possible plugin conflicts, you could check with your host to see if there’s a mod security rule being triggered.

That wouldn’t normally be something that’d be logged, but there’s a plugin called “REST API Log” that you could install, and then you can view each request from the app in the WP > Tools > Rest API Log page it adds.

yes i changed the failed login attempts to 10 and deactivated all security plugins

Which security plugins are you using?

De-activating them doesn’t remove all of the crazy things some of them add.

There’s a section specifically for the error you are getting in the app troubleshooting section here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-event-apps/#troubleshooting

Try running through the steps there and retest.
