Hello, there seems to be an error with the Event Espresso & Mailchimp integration. The registrations included in Event Espresso is not populating to the Mailchimp lists within the integrated Mailchimp account.

Error code: This registration could not be subscribed to a MailChimp List with ID: 9262a532ba. There were errors regarding the following: . Any mandatory or multi-choice fields that are in this MailChimp list require to be paired with Event questions (in this case IP Dealmakers Forum 2021 event) that correspond by type and possibly by having the same answer values. If you have further problems please contact support.

How can we resolve this?

Hey Wendy,

Here’s what the error states:
“Any mandatory or multi-choice fields that are in this MailChimp list require to be paired with Event questions (in this case IP Dealmakers Forum 2021 event) that correspond by type and possibly by having the same answer values.”

Looking at the error, it says that you need to pair/link any mandatory or multiple choice fields in your Mailchimp list with the corresponding registration form fields in Event Espresso. The field type and multiple choice answers must match up as well.

For instance, if you have a checkbox or radio button field in your Event Espresso registration form, you must also have those exact same fields created within your Mailchimp list.

Does that help?

Thank you, Seth. I think that we were able to reconnect the fields. How can we check that this issue is now resolved?

You will need to add a subscriber to the list.

You can do this by adding a registration onto your event using a dummy email (if using a gmail account you can add +{something} just be the @, so for example:

test@gmail.com
test+1MCTest@gmail.com
test+2MCTest@gmail.com

Are all ‘valid’ email address for that same test@gmail.com email address.

Then once confirmed just remove that subscriber from the list again.

Thank you, Tony! Is there a way to change the mailchimp fields that appear in EE or make them not mandatory? For instance, company website doesn’t have an asterisk next to it so we do not need it to be mapped to anything.

The MailChimps will show as mandatory in Event Espresso if they are set to be mandatory within MaiLChimp itself.

Log into you MailChimp account and select your list/audience.

On the dropdown to the right that usually shows ‘Manage Audience’, click settings.

Then ‘Audience fields and *|MERGE|* tags’.

Now you’ll see a list of fields for your audience within Mailchimp.

Here is an example from mine: https://monosnap.com/file/Jro8LIux0OloDEGPlVqZqpw5AwOdQu

Any fields set to be required in that section will be required within your MailChimp settings on the event when you select the list/audience.

Is that what you are looking for?
