Event Espresso Keep's Spamming Confirmation Emails. Help Please!

Hello, whenever a user makes a purchase for an event, they keep getting sent confirmation emails over and over again and it won’t stop. This does not happen during registration for events that require no payment. Please help.

WP Versions: 3.5.1

Event Espresso Version: Event 3.1.33.3.P

Hi John,

The first thing to to would be update Event Espresso. Also, there may be an issue with the Instant Payment Notification that’s being sent by the payment processor. What will happen is if they pay and the payment processor sends your site a notification your site should communicate back that it has received it. If something goes wrong with that communication, the payment processor may end up re-sending the Payment Notification.

We’ve outlined some steps to make sure the PayPal Instant Payment Notification works correctly here:

Many of the tips there can be applied to other payments payment options. If you continue to see more than one email confirmation after updating please let us know which Payment option(s) are set up for your site and we’ll help troubleshoot.

I haven’t received any more “spam” from the IPN since applying the update and changing the PayPal settings. I just created a test event and sent a payment just to confirm everything is working according to plan. I will update within 24 hours to confirm that everything is 100% fixed, but all looks well at this moment. Next step… resolving Mobile App issues, but I will create a new thread for that, if your recommendations do not work that I found in other threads. Thank you guys for all your help! I will be sure to recommend this plugin to my other clients.
