Hi
We are running events directory portal at http://www.cele.si but after few months we discovered it doesn’t meet our expectations anymore. We are looking for new plugin and template
My question is can we use Event Espresso in any wordpress theme and does EE4 has necessary shortcodes to include specific functions into specific parts of theme. Of course i understand it depends on theme also. features like Today events, upcoming, search ..

Hi Gregor,
EE4 should work with any theme, so long as it is written to WordPress guidelines.
I personally recommend avoiding themes that change the URL structure (usually parallax/one page themes) as these can cause issues.

It depends on what your are trying to achieve. EE4 comes loaded with numerous shortcodes, as well as template tags, hooks and filters. You can also use a child theme with the template tags to change structure etc. As such most things are possible, but some will require coding depending on what your trying to do.
EE4 doesn’t come with search, but as events are custom post types, you site search can read them. There is an upcoming events widget, but no events today system. That could be done with a small function though.
I think the best thing you can do would be to give EE4 a test drive by registering (for free) over at http://demoee.org

Thank you for your quick answer. We found a theme for us , I also contacted the author, and he said it can be done with some modification in code, which is fine with me. My last question is, what is your refund policy, just in case if we don’t get it to work with the template that we’re about to buy?

P.s. i already registered for demo and plugin is the best i’ve seen for events!

But in short, because we offer so many different options to evaluate Event Espresso before purchasing a license, we do not offer refunds.
I have edited your post and posted the link directly so the link is visible and created a ticket to investigate why a tags are not visible.
