Hi! I am looking into Event Espresso for a client website. I need the option to list hotels for an event. One event will have several hotels associated with it. The user needs to be able to view the hotels associated with the event and then select and submit a request to reserve a number of rooms at that hotel. Would that be possible with your plug-in?

Hi kcjane,

How are you today?

That depends on how you want it to work. Are you associating prices with the hotel rooms, are the prices different per hotel, and how do you want to “submit a request” does it go to the hotel or the event organizer?

Be happy to help if you can provide some additional details.

Hi! Yes, there is a price associated with each hotel room but it is really reference only as there is no payment process needed. I would like to be able to keep track of the number of rooms available out of a block of rooms that has been reserved for event. The reservation request would go to the event organizer.

So basically I’d like to have a single event page with a link to bring up the associated venues (hotels). From there I’d like the user to be able to select a hotel and then be taken to a form to request a number of rooms and enter other registration data. This request would be sent to the event organizer. There will be multiple events – each with their own set of hotels.

hmm, so I would setup the main event separate from the hotels then. And create a separate event with all the hotel options as separate tickets on that new event, (we’ll call it the hotel event). Since you are not charging a fee for the tickets, set the price to 0 but mention somewhere else what the prices are with the hotel. Then, people would reserve a room among the available spaces and the event organizer will be notified. After someone reserves a space, the room availability will be decremented. If people change their mind about a hotel, the event organizer can “Cancel” the room reservation/RSVP.

The only trouble with that approach might be communicating the prices. Because in Event Espresso the price will be $0, but obviously the hotel is not free.

Does that help?
