Can Event Espresso handle the following functionality requirements?
– payment structure ($3/person and $5/family)
– options for people registering a family with a child under 5 who is free
– a waiting list
– reoccurring programs
– visible vs. not visible programs
– automatic bi-monthly upcoming events emails that are sent through MailChimp
– maximum attendees
– automatic reminder and follow up emails sent to attendees
– mark someone paid if they walked in and bought a ticket
– see how many people are registered for a program
– print out reports
– code events to feed to certain pages
– filtering system so users can hone in on what they’re interested in
– If someone is signs up for a program and they paid online they have the ability to cancel that registration and apply their payment to another program with the same fee structure.
Looking over your requirements, Event Espresso would not be a good fit as it meets less than half of those requirements.
Here is additional feedback.
In Event Espresso, there is a relationship between the number of pricing options and a registration. For example 1 pricing option (e.g. ticket) equals one guest and 3 pricing options would be three guests.
A limit can be set through the event on the event level or on the individual pricing option level.
A registration CSV report can be generated which will show a list of registrants/attendees for an event and at any time you can see the number of guests that are registered for an event via the WordPress dashboard (WP-admin).
The other requirements are not available at this time.
