Event Espresso crashing and not loading

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem I experiencing. When I uploaded the Event Espresso plugin the first time it crashed midway through but the plugin was still able to be installed however whenever I tried to create and event or clicked on any of the options for the plugin (registration forms, payment options, settings, etc.) The page would stop loading and would give me an error message saying the page was “currently unable to handle this request.” I decided to re-upload the plugin again, this time it didn’t crash or freeze midway and I was able to get a successful install but the same problem keeps on occurring. Is this a fault of the plugin or does my computer not have enough power to carry out the commands? I’ve never run into a problem like this with other plugins.

Thanks

Tony

Hi there,

Its hard for us to say as we don’t know the actual errors that are being thrown.

Are you installing Event Espresso locally or on a live server?

Usually if the site is crashing at certain points the first thing we check is the amount of memory available to the site.

If you go to Event Espresso -> Maintenance -> System information (tab)

Within there search for wp_memory, what value is set for that?

Then search for ‘memory_limit’, what option is set for that?

Hi there,

It’s most likely an issue with the server. Are you running Event Espresso on one of the recommended hosts listed here:
