Event Espresso asks for Credit Card Info when there is no balance due.

hey guys,

We have several people who register for our events who do not pay anything. Speakers, media trades for example. So we give them a 100% discount code to register.

Unfortunately for some reason EE is still asking them provide their CC info even though their registration has a zero balance. This seems like a new problem.

Any ideas or suggestions on how to fix this?

Thank you.

Hi there,

I’ve just tested this on a test site to confirm this still works as expected and didn’t run into any issues which means your site is likely throwing a JS error preventing the above.

Can you create a test event I can run some registrations on your site and post a link to it here?

I’ll also need a 100% discount code I can use on that event.

(If you don’t want your users to be able to register onto the test event you can set it to be password protected and just post the password here with the link, set your reply to private so only EE support can view it)

hey guys,

I originally posted this question a couple months back. For some reason I missed the email notification with your reply and covid put everything on hold for a bit. We just launched a new event for 2021 and this problem is front of mind again.

Here is the original thread along with Tony’s support reply.

I have set up the test site per his request in this tread and can post as soon as you reply.

Thank you.

Hi there,

Threads automatically close after 14 days of no activity so I’ve reopened your original thread and merged your latest post into that.

If you can post a link to the event and the promo code I’ll take a look.

Quick reminder as I’ll need that 100% promotion code to test this, you can mark your reply private so only EE support can view it.
