Hello! We are trying to log in to the EE app to do some check ins, and we get a message that says “Error occurred, the requested resource could not be found but may be available again in the future. Subsequent requests by the client are permissible.”

What does this mean? We have EE on a few other sites and it works fine. We found a forum topic that said it may be due to a security plugin, but there are none on this site, which is https://uk.eosconference.com

Hi there,

uk.eosconference.com redirects to http://www.eosworldwide.com/strong-london

The app then uses the URL it was redirected to to try and communicate with the site.

I run a local proxy to capture the app triffc when trouble shooting issues like this and this may help explain it better:

https://monosnap.com/file/vRWuoU1vwjA5eG4FLsAZJEwAhFmPsU

The app sends a request to uk.eosconference.com (#4 in the screenshot)

Which is redirected to uk.eosconference.com/events/2022-london-conference-registration/ (#11)

Which is redirected to eosworldwide.com/strong-london (#13)

Which is then finally redirected to www.eosworldwide.com/strong-london

As far as the app is then concerned the only valid domain to use is www.eosworldwide.com which it then proceeds to use for the app requests (#15+) and as far as I can tell doesn’t have EE installed there, so the error is thrown.

You’ll need to remove the redirect on uk.eosconference.com (even if its just for the EE app requests) for the above to work

Got it – we do have the homepage redirecting so that would explain it, thanks! Do you know of a way to exclude EE app requests from the main redirect?

What are you using for the redirect now?

Although not a great way to do it, you could check the user the user-agent and if it’s from the EE app don’t do the redirect.
