One of my event organizers is having difficulty using the mobile check-in app. They are able to log-in and find their event fine but after selecting the relevant date-time (multiple days) and selecting attendees followed by opening the barcode scanner, they receive the error “Registration is denied”. This is displayed after scanning any barcode for tickets with the approved status for the relevant date time. While I see this error message displayed on the app troubleshooting page, I do not see any instructions regarding the causes or how to resolve. Please advise.

Hi there,

Does your event admin accounts have the ee_edit_checkins and ee_edit_checkin capabilities set to their user account?

Currently, they use “event organizer” profile created by Event Espresso Roles Plugin. I assume this would be the case for this role?

I’m not familiar with that plugin. Can you install a plugin like User Role editor, then view the role in the capabilities editor? Can you post a list of the capabilities assigned to that user’s role?

Hi there,

It looks like the Events Organizer role will need the
ee_read_others_events cap added to scan those tickets.

Is this because of the multiple date times or is this in general? Also, does this mean that they would access to events from other authors? That isn’t much of solution for me if that is the case as the events on my site are from various event organizers and I can’t have them having access to other organizers events. Is there literally no other option? Thanks Josh!

Thanks!

In general.

No they will not have access to the other events. They’ll see the events listed, but they can’t go in to edit them or view the registrations for those events if they only have ee_read_others_events.
