Hi,
I have 3 issues with the app. I need your help please.

1. When I pull up the attendees list from the app, I get a Error Occurred Message :
“the request was a valid request, but the server is refusing to respond to it. Unlike a 401 Unauthorized response, authenticating will make no difference. On servers where authentication is required, this commonly means that the provided credentials were successfully authenticated but that the credentials still do not grant the client permission to access the resource (eg., a recognized user attempting to access restricted content).”

What does that mean and how can I solve this?

2. When I scan any QR code on a ticket, I get a red alert that the Ticket is for a different event!

Why is this happening and How can I solve it?

3. The event date on the mobile app is different from the actual date set on the Event online.
How can I fix that?

The event is on Sunday Morning and I really like to solve those check in-issues before then.

Thanks,
Tarek

Hi Tarek,

Could you try this solution to resolve the authorization issue?

https://eventespresso.com/topic/ee4-app-error-requested-resource-could-not-be-found/#post-203548

Next, referring to the mismatch in the data that you are seeing, are you running any caching services on your website?

Thanks Lorenzo. It worked 🙂

Regarding the Caching service, I have W3 Total cache which was deactivated, Do I need to activate it? If yes, then are there special settings?

Thanks again.

I have a problem. It stopped scanning QR Codes all of a sudden. Any fix for that?

Thanks,
Tarek

Hi Tarek,

When I scan any QR code on a ticket, I get a red alert that the Ticket is for a different event!

Can you find the event that the is the ticket is for? There’s also a scan all events option, which will allow you to scan tickets for any event. You can see how to use the scan all events option in the documentation:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-event-apps/#scanning-apple

The event date on the mobile app is different from the actual date set on the Event online.
How can I fix that?

You can’t. The app developer built the app to show the times in UTC +0. Future versions of the apps will include the timezone offset.

Regarding the Caching service, I have W3 Total cache which was deactivated, Do I need to activate it? If yes, then are there special settings?

Caching is an optional thing. If you use caching you can use the settings found in this guide:
https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-nocache-exclusion-rules-event-espresso/#w3totalcache

If your caching plugin was deactivated without disabling the caching features first, you can reactivate the plugin and disable the caching features, then deactivate the plugin.

You can make sure the camera lens is clean, and the location where you’re scanning tickets has sufficient light.

Now that the event was over, we managed to check guests in manually from the attendee list. I wish we could’ve used the QR code scanner. I still get the red message. It worked briefly and I was able to check people in then it started giving out the red alert message. I tried 2 iPhones, both with clean lenses and plenty of ambient light. When I login into the app, I do choose the event then I click on the QR code icon on the top right corner of the screen to activate the camera. Usage is very simple but I still get the red alert.

I appreciate your help Josh.

Thanks,
Tarek

Hi Tarek,

You should get a red alert with a message if the registration wasn’t paid for (e.g. it’s incomplete/pending payment).
