Greetings – I know, this topic has been posted before but please hear me out on this. I use/love EE for the event/datetime/ticket capability. I can do things with it that no other Event Manager can do, it’s been great. BUT, I would really prefer to use WooCommerce’s Cart and Checkout Process for the back-end. Why? 1. EE does not offer PayPal Payflow Pro payment support (which I need) Avalara is the big one. Our company has a very complicated tax setup that only Avalara Avatax can handle. State specific, % specific, and more. So do know of ANYBODY that has created a bridge/gateway/plugin to allow EE to use the Woo cart and checkout process ??? Any help/suggestions would be most appreciated!!! Thanks, Mark |

BTW – I meant Event Espresso v5 (not v4). We are currently on v5.0.7. |

Hi Mark, I’d love to be able to point you in the direction of any kind of integration between Event Espresso and Woo, but unfortunately, I’m not aware of any. Both plugins use their own checkout process and are structured very differently, there’s no simple integration that can be done between the 2 as stands. A WooEE (see what I did there?) integration would be great, but it would also be a mammoth undertaking for anyone to create and also maintain. That’s not just from a single plugin’s side either. EE changes could affect the checkout within Woo and the same for changes in Woo because this isn’t just a simple case of completing a checkout in EE and passing on the details to be stored within Woo, its essentially a full custom integration.
Just so you know for future reference, v5 basically is EE4 with the new advanced editor built into it. So unless something specifically targets something within the Legacy Editor or some hook that has been deprecated, something that works with EE4 will work with EE5. I’m guessing you’ve seen threads about the difference between EE3 (our legacy version of Event Espresso) and EE4…. the same does NOT apply to EE4, the codebase will be based of what we have now for a while (improved and built up further, but not a complete overhaul like EE3 -> EE4 was/is). |

Tony – Thank you for that response. The big thing that I can’t do in EE is plugin Avalara Avatax specifically. Are you aware of anyone/anything that could help me incorporate that into EE? The basic tax model just won’t work for us as a company unfortunately. I think they might have an external API available, but I was hoping for something nicer than that – Mark |

Yeah I understand, some tax set ups are just…. mindblowing!
We have some developers familiar with Eent Espresso posted up here: https://eventespresso.com/developers/event-espresso-pros/ I don’t know if any of those have worked on the above before but that would be were I would start.
Hmm interesting, may I ask what exactly you mean by something nicer here? |
