Event displaying on incorrect date on Calendar + Calendar Display Issues

EE 3.1.32P – Calendar 2.0.5 – Recurring Events 1.1.7

I have an event displaying on the calendar for the dates May 31-June 2 but the event dates are May 24-27.  Here is the event page and you will see the dates are set for May 24-27:

http://www.genevakayak.com/event-registration/?regevent_action=register&event_id=123

Another issue I am having is that some multi-day events display with their last day cut-off when there are daily events.  It is almost like the daily event is “overlayed” on top of the multi-day event.

Hi David,

Can you go into Event Espresso>Template settings and verify whether the themeroller templates are set to on?

Also, is this a fresh copy of the calendar add-on or was it the one that Sidney did some work on?

Themeroller is set to on.

This is a copy that Sidney did some work on. I have a update available to me – Calendar version 2.0.5.1 but do not want to update if it will override some of the fixes Sidney worked on.

The version of the calendar that is currently in beta has a fix for the dates that were incorrectly displaying when they wrapped to a second row. This is available from the pre-release downloads section that you can opt into on your account page. Once you’ve opted in-you can install this version of the calendar manually. If you deactivate the version that Sidney made some edits to, but don’t delete it, you can test the newer version out without deleting any files.

The beta version of the calendar fixed the “wrong date” issue. However I still have events overlapping one another as can be seen here.  No colors as well.

Hi David,

I couldnt see any overlapping events with the link you provided.

Regarding the colours, it may be that the settings got reset somehow. Can you check that the event has a category and that the “Enable CSS for Categories” in the Calendar Settings is set to yes.

You were right, the calendar settings had changed….so I’ve enabled CSS for Categories and now have colors.   You were also right in that I (now) have no overlapping events. However, this is a change now that I have installed the beta version of the calendar that is on the pre-release channel.

UNFORTUNATELY,  now the “unsightly” spaces between events are back!   Oy. See the following thread:

https://eventespresso.com/topic/undesirable-space-between-events-on-calendar/

Seems like it’s a choice between a calendar which has overlapping events and a calendar in which the user most scroll for an eternity.  Any help would be great!  Thank you for you the help so far.

Hi David,

I can check on this. Sidney’s changes haven’t been merged into the stable versions as of yet because they have not been fully tested. I’m thinking that you could add those changes back into the version of the calendar you have running now.

I think the gap between events on the same has to do with the browser.  The calendar displays correctly in Firefox but incorrectly in Safari and Chrome. Thoughts/fixes on this?

Hi David,

Here is a link to download the latest development build of the calendar add-on that includes Sidney’s fixes. You can deactivate the version of the calendar you have installed right now and upload/install/activate this version if you’d like to test it.

I installed the update…now there is no gap between events. However, there is quite a bit of white space below the events and users still have to scroll down to see the next week.  Can I get someone my log-in information so a fix can be applied? This has been an ongoing problem for months now.

Hi David,

I have looked at the site. One of the developers advised he added a fix, but yes I still see the issue though it seems to only affect Chrome. I will ask the developer to have another look at this as I personally cannot see what is causing the issue.

Any updates on the calendar? Looks like the problem is only in Chrome

Hi,

Sorry about that but no not yet, the developer who originally created the fix is currently unavailable. I will contact him again to chase this up.
