Hi. I am having trouble when trying to navigate between the HTML and Visual editors in the Event Overview section. When I click to switch between the two the description box disappears not allowing me to edit or add any content. Has anyone else experienced this? |
I’ve seen this happen before. Usually it’s caused by one of these three things: 1) An older version of WordPress is installed. Update to the latest version of WordPress if you have not already done so. 2) A plugin is altering the TinyMCE editor. Try deactivating any plugins that alter TinyMCE. The TinyMCE Advanced plugin is a recommended alternative. 3) The active WordPress theme is altering TinyMCE. You can rule this out by testing a WordPress standards compliant theme like twentyeleven (install the theme testdrive plugin if you’d prefer to avoid switching themes while you test.) |

Thank you for this I will check through the suggested now, also we are having problems with event espresso breaking links and altering template files with our current theme, have you ever experience this before? |
How is it breaking links? Are these cosmetic issues, or are links getting redirected? Event Espresso shouldn’t be redirecting links. That might be another plugin or an issue with the permalinks. If you have a page slug of /events/ that might be an issue though, as Event Espresso uses the same slug for the custom post type feature. Are you using any of the built in Event Espresso styles (legacy or themeroller). |

We are using the events slug for our current events which we are swapping over to Event Espresso, so I’m assuming there will not be much of a work around accept to get the information transferred as soon as possible and to delete this current slug. |
Try changing the page slug, you can keep the navigation label set as events if you’re using the built in WordPress menu manager. |

We aren’t at the moment as the site was built before that feature was added and it hasn’t been updated since. Thanks for your help on this. |
For the time being, you could try changing the slug on line 34 of /includes/admin-files/custom_post_type.php |

I will give that a go, also for future reference it was the plugin WordPress FlippingBook which was causing the trouble visual editor. |
