Ever since new WordPress 4.8.1 π |
Hi Brian, The breakage you report isn’t caused by WP 4.8.1 but it can be caused by another WordPress plugin that hooks into the row of buttons there next to the event URL edit field. Usually the types of plugins that do that are SEO related plugins that add a feature to manage URLs. Can you try temporarily deactivating the other plugins on your site to see if that fixes things? |
thanks josh! Tried that, even switched themes! no bueno π thanks for the quick reply! |
Hi Brian, May I ask which plugins did you try deactivating? |
All of them, except for EE and the Calendar Plugin. If it helps, it only happens when we edit an event, not when we create one… Thanks again, I appreciate your help! |

This is caused by using an older version of Event Espresso and WP4.8.1 You are currently running 4.8.31 which is 7 months old, the latest version of Event Espresso is v4.9.45.p, so you need to update the version of EE you are using on your site. |

Hi Tony! Thanks for the reply, there is no Update in the admin, and deleting it will remove all the data. Could you let me know the best way to do this? Thanks so much, you all are the best! |

Do you have the license key set within Event Espresso -> General Settings?
You mean your event data, events, registrations, transactions etc? If so then no deleting the plugin will not remove the data, it’s stored in the database, can I ask what gives you that impression? |
Hmm, ok, I’ve reset your license key. Please go to the same setting page, remove the key (cut), save the key with an empty field and then replace the key (paste) and save once again, does the update then show? That popup is from WordPress core and is a little misleading. Within a plugin, you can create an If the above auto update does not work, you can safely delete EE through the plugin menu and then download the latest version from your account page and upload the plugin through: Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add new -> Upload plugin Even though we don’t remove data on delete, I still recommend creating a backup of the database before updating as its best practice. |
