Event Category Colors (Calendar)

Hello,

I have events that live in multiple categories, one being a “highlighted” category. Is there a way, when creating a new event, to specify the background color for the calendar view? For example: I have a category called “Services” that lives in two categories – Services and Highlighted events. I would like the background color in the calendar view to show the color I’ve set for the “Services” category.

Hi there,

There isn’t an option within Event Espresso that lets you specify this. It may be possible to add some custom styles to override the default behavior of the category colors. Can you post a link to the calendar page and let us know which event you’re referring to so we can investigate further?

Currently, the highlighted events category is marked red.

Hi there,

It’s possible to manually override these with CSS. So, for the event on Nov. 2, that’s red, you can change it to green if you wanted to by adding this style rule:

a#EVT_ID-1536 div{
background-color:green!important;
}

1536 is the event ID.

An effective way to inject this style onto the page would be by using the Custom CSS option that’s bundled with the Jetpack plugin, or use the similar standalone my custom CSS plugin
