We have a site where it recently started erroring out once a user goes to the cart or registration – any event will return a page with a message about too many redirects. Here is an example event that can be used to check out the issue:
We are on the latest version on WP, latest version of all EE plugins and hosted at WP Engine. We recently upgraded to php 7 and the issue seems to have risen since then.
There are no errors in our error logs recored when this happens.
Whats happening is the site is redirecting to HTTPS, but then back to HTTP again, which then triggers a redirect back to HTTPS and so on – http://take.ms/hwV35
One thing to note is that for the checkout process to work the page loading the ticket selector must be secured, currently it looks like only the registration-checkout page is secure which may well be causing this.
Rather than only securing specific pages I’d advise to just switch the site to load over https.
