HI guys, a couple of questions for you.

1. can a discount be allocated to an event or it has to be to each ticket.
2. is there a way that i can highlight that there is a discount on the event list for that event.

Hi there,

The Promotions add-on allows for setting an automatic discount for the entire event. Or you can set the price modifier discount for each ticket type within the event.

It’s possible to add a discount amount to the list with some PHP code. I’m not familiar with the list from your screenshot though. Is the list from your screenshot something that was custom coded?

that was just an image i took from somewhere to try and explain easier what im looking for, im currently working with a dev to design and build my list layout for me now. do you have the code or tag inside the plugin that i would need to hook into to display the percentage?

Hi there,

The PHP code involved will depend on how the discount was set up. For example is the discount set as a price modifier in the ticket editor or is it set from the Promotions add-on?

I can put together an example, but before I do that, I need to know how you’re setting the discount. Is the discount set from the ticket editor or from the Promotions add-on?

i wasnt planning on using the add on as it has way more features than i would need, so i need to apply discount across an event and then be able to reflect that on the front end, here is my current event list page that im developing, so you can get an idea of the layout we are using. its not finished yet, but should give you an idea.

The promotions add-on is currently the only way to apply a discount on a while event, the other option is to edit each ticket within an event and add a price modifier to discount the ticket each time you want to apply a discount.

Are you sure that’s how you want to manage your discounts rather than using the promotions add-on?
