Hello, we manage an festival website which is composed of a few mini events over the course of a single weekend.

We need to provide a single registration form with checkboxes to each of the mini events. The registration fee depends on how many mini events are checked. We also provide a discount if all events are checked.

Each customer can purchase tickets for many guests under a single checkout but we need to collect attendee information for each person such as name and email.

I guess we’re trying to figure out how much of this is doable and what we’d need to reformat in order to use Event Espresso. The current format works from a checkout perspective but lacks a little on the receipt and attendee management side.

Please checkout the current event ticket form as example.

Hi Greg,

Currently with Event Espresso we do have the option to select add-on items that will add values to the registration total in the way you are requesting (its on our roadmap but not currently available)

However you could setup the options as additional tickets within the event, so you have a single admission ticket, then a ticket for each individual mini event, like this – http://take.ms/bQeOS

There’s also an ‘All mini events’ ticket that the user can select to allow you to provide a discount.

The caveat with this event setup is that you will need to collect only the primary registrant information for this type of setup, which means that unless both registrations are attending all of the same mini events you can only register a single user at a time.

I would recommend signing up to Test Drive Event Espresso 4, that way you can create an event, get a feel for how EE works and see if it will suit your needs.

We are more than happy to answer any questions you have but sometimes it best to see it in action 🙂

Hi Tony,

I just set up the demo and it looks pretty good.

We’re interested in the printable tickets with scannable barcodes for check-ins. In the screenshots I’ve seen, the printable ticket is singular even though there may be multiple quantities.

Is there any way to set up the ticket purchase so that we collect attendee names and emails for each attendee without requiring the purchaser to go through multiple checkouts? Can the events work like products in the sense that you’d add a ticket to the cart for one attendee and then add another ticket to the cart for a second attendee?

Each registration has its own ticket, so if you select 5 tickets to register onto you’ll create 5 registrations and therefore 5 tickets.

Is there any way to set up the ticket purchase so that we collect attendee names and emails for each attendee without requiring the purchaser to go through multiple checkouts?

Do you mean with the setup I mentioned above?

Not if you want to use tickets as additional ‘mini classes’ as the events don’t work like products, tickets do. You add your tickets to the cart, not the event (the ticket obviously relates to the event) but I think the way your referring to is to add an event to the cart for attendee 1 and then select the tickets from the selection I posted above? Then repeat for Attendee 2 and so on? Is that right?

If so its not how Event Espresso works. We have the Multi Event Registration Add-on that allows you to add multiple tickets for various events but again it’s the tickets you register onto, not the event.

Another options it to combine Admission with all of your other options, so that the user selects 1 per attendee. For example:

Admission = $50
Admission + mini class 1 = $60
Admission + mini class 1 & 2 = $70
Admission + mini class 1, 2 & 3 = $80

However that doesn’t allow the flexibility needed for book mini class 1 and 3 without creating a large amount of tickets to select from.
