As payment data is sensitive many Europeans don’t use gateways which are based in the US for serious reasons.
EE4 does not offer payment gateways with direct payment possibility through European companies. Mijireh which offers different gateways is a detour through the US as they have there base in Virginia.
Dear developers, it would be in your own interest, as you would earn many thanks of European users, if you offer at least one major real European direct gateway, like quickpay or iDeal.
You could even sell it as an Addon, so your development costs will be in soon.

Hi there Heinz, thanks for sharing feedback on the availability of European-based payment processors and that is an interesting viewpoint. Is this partly related to privacy?
We recently moved up iDeal Mollie as a payment gateway for Event Espresso 4. While I don’t have a release date available, I can let you know that it has been added to the development list and will be available as a payment gateway add-on for Event Espresso 4.

It’s definitely related to privacy, which is a big issue in Europe, not just since Edward Snowden.
