[ESPRESSO_TICKET_SELECTOR] shortcode and custom page

Our clientele are mostly not at all comfortable with navigating the web. To make things easier for them, I want to include an on-page login module on my single event pages. I am trying to determine the best approach. As best I can see I have two options: 1) Create a custom page using my site builder, Divi, with a login module, and add the dates, times, and ticket selector to it or 2) customize the template for single events.

I have modified templates, but given I am an extreme amateur at php, option 2 seems above my ability. Option 1 would be the simplest solution for me, but I cannot seem to find a shortcode that will display the date and time section normally seen on the EE single event page. Is there such a thing? If not, do you know of another option for getting the dates and times onto a custom page?

Hi there,

May I ask why you are trying to do this?

It sounds like you could just use the WP User integration add-on to add a login step to the current checkout process rather than having to re-create custom pages for each event, but I may be misunderstand what you are trying to do.

So, if I may, what are you trying to achieve with the above?

How do you want the event registration flow to work?

Hi Tony,

We simply don’t like the look or the way it functions when the option to require login first is enabled. Specifically, the customer is asked to enter a username and password on the login page. If the data entered doesn’t match an existing account, they are asked if they lost their password. If they say yes, they are taken to the forgotten password page. After entering the data again there, they are told it failed but not given a link to create an account. This is way too many steps and much too little info for our customers.

We want a much more branded and customized event presentation, and we want the flow to fit our clientele who are often older and registering with us for the first time. Here is the flow we want:

1) Customer views event details
2) Customer is notified of need to log in if they already have an account and has the ability to do so on-page. Failed login gives them guidance on what to do next.
3) Customer selects ticket and submits
4) If they are a new customer, EE User Integration creates account for them

So is there a way to display the dates and times as well as the ticket selector?

Thanks,
Shelley
