Hello from N.C. – USA

OK… put the cold pizza down, and turn off the video games.

…We need to get some immediate assistance with Expresso Event and standing it up on our website. I had only one (1) week to stand up a new website and get the basic functionality of an event manager up and running. I’m 80%-90% there already. http://SouthpointWinery.com

Need some guidance and assistance from someone who knows their stuff.

EVENT MGR REQUIREMENT:

1.) Easy to navigate and understand “multiple” event. Event spans twelve 12 months and is four (4) days (Wed,Thu,Fri, & Sat) and three (3) times a day (1pm, 3pm, 5pm). Strong emphasis on “easy to navigate and understand”.

EVENT LOGIC FLOW:
–Event (XYZ)
—OCTOBER
—Week 1
—Wed (1pm, 3pm, 5pm) [0/10 Attendees]
—Thu (1pm, 3pm, 5pm) [0/10 Attendees]
—Fri (1pm, 3pm, 5pm) [0/10 Attendees]
—Thu (1pm, 3pm, 5pm) [0/10 Attendees]
—Week 2
—Week 3
—Week 4
—NOVEMBER
—DECEMBER
—JANUARY
etc. etc. etc.

[STOP HERE – If you just said to yourself that he just needs to throw some SHORTCODES up on some pages, then pick up your pizza and return to your video game. A seasoned person should understand what we mean by this comment.]

2.) Easy to populate (by our own Staff) single events. We will designate a Staff Mbr add, delete, modify, manage various single events.

3.) Functionality MUST be in place Monday afternoon for Item #1, but actual Customers will not start to make reservations until early Wednesday. Therefore, all database configuration parameters must be solid by Wednesday, but tweaking of actual pages/posts/php code can still occur.

WHAT WE REQUIRE:

1.) Must be available by text, email, phone, skype through Monday afternoon EST (DTC -5).

2.) Send me a quick email to guy [dot] loeffler [at] gmx [dot] com with a quick sentence or two (brief) about your Expresso Event experience.

3.) You must have an existing and verified personal or business PayPal account to receive xfer of your consulting fee(s).

4.) Billing increments of 1 hour at time with a mutually agreed rate paid through PayPal. Total hours probably won’t exceed 4-6 total. Probably.

5.) If international, Skype account required.

6.) Completion by Monday is the requirement… making if a lot more fancy can come later.

This is not a hard job for someone who knows the code. I’m just running out of time and have a hard finish on Monday.

Thanks for your consideration.

Guy

Hey Guy,
Are you using the Recurring Events add-on to create the events that occur on a regular basis? And when you say “multiple” event, do you mean that you want the customer to be able to register for multiple events at the same time in a shopping cart experience? It looks from the site (nice design, btw) like you just need a good UX way for the customer to be able to select the week, day, and time for their tasting, and then maybe purchase multiple tickets, or register multiple guests, at the same time. You may be able to use the Multiple Events Registration add-on with some custom javascript to take advantage of the Ajax functionality to make some dropdowns that let the customer choose the date, then the time, to add that tasting to the cart.

@Sidney
Yes, I’m using reoccurring events with time slots enabled. My main issue was auto-magically upgrading to 3.1.26p … that really threw me. I’m back to 3.1.25p and configuring and coding away. Pulling an all night’er.

The events will not require a cart (i.e. multiple registrations). They are the same event that are available 4 days-a-week, 3 times-a-day, for a total of 12 months. The Customer redeems their voucher (previously purchased discount coupon, kinda like Groupon) for only ONE of these events by reserving a date/time and entering their voucher #.

We needed to get something up ASAP so that the marketing company can finalize the contract wording so it says for the customer to reserve their date/time online at our website. We are expecting between 1,000 and 1,500 reservations between this coming Wednesday and Dec. 31st (deadline).

My requirement was more or less someone I could communicate with to ask “this or that” about how EE works in the real-world. Unfortunately, I’m learning the hard way … the slow way. Time is not what I have a lot of right now.

I take it you’re in England… good morning. Let me know what you think… if you “want in” to look around, let me know.

Regards,
Guy
