Hi, I have installed espresso lite on 2 different clean wordpress installs and it has crashed the wordpress twice. Any ideas on why this would happen? We are very interested in purchasing but not if crashes wordpress. On both occasions, I can’t even login to my wordpress dashboard anymore. This is the url I get with a 500 error. http://shtsrotaryclassic.com/event-registration/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fshtsrotaryclassic.com%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1 Try it yourself: http://shtsrotaryclassic.com/wp-admin The home page comes up fine but all the other links to the espresso pages are dead. http://shtsrotaryclassic.com |

Hi, That is very strange, never heard of it doing that before, and I install EE on sites daily. The 500 error is also coming up on the sample page as well, posts, feed, and these are not related to Event Espresso. Have you tested the server with EE deactivated? Have you checked the basic requirements page? Out of interest who is your host? PHP version? |

Hi Dean, I thought it was very strange as well. If you try to and go to the login page for WP: http://shtsrotaryclassic.com/wp-admin You will see in the URL it comes up with an event registration path. Like I said I have done 2 fresh installs of WP and in both cases EE has crashed WP after activating and using the plugin. I have tested WP without EE activated even changed themes so I’m pretty sure its not a server issue or WP issue. I have checked the basic requirements page, we should be good. I know you guys even recommend hostgator… We are using hostgator for the this site and we are on PHP 5. |
Hi Dwayne, You should be able to log in here: http://shtsrotaryclassic.com/wp-login.php Please make sure that the WordPress Address (URL) is set correctly in WP General Settings too. If you still cannot deactivate Event Espresso from the admin, you can FTP or access the server via the server’s cpanel and rename the event-espresso plugin folder to force a deactivation. |
