Dear Support

After upgrading my event espresso to everything license and after uploading various add-ons, I now have the following warning:

Database table 5z1v8m_esp_people_to_post existed when it shouldn’t, and probably contained erroneous data. You probably restored to a backup that didn’t remove old tables didn’t you? We recommend adding
define( ‘EE_DROP_BAD_TABLES’, TRUE );
to your wp-config.php file then restore to that backup again. This will clear out the invalid data from 5z1v8m_esp_people_to_post. Afterwards you should undo that change from your wp-config.php file.
If you cannot edit wp-config.php, you should remove the data from 5z1v8m_esp_people_to_post manually then restore to the backup again.

i have follow the above instructions but just to make sure I have had a look at the database, I can see that the above table still there although I am not sure if the table contains any data, my question is does this warning may cause me some issues or not really?

Further more how can I be sure that this table does not have any data and I am good to use event espresso without any issues?

Regards

Andy

Hi there Andy, we had another report of this issue but had some difficulty reproducing it.

In a prior support post, you mentioned deleting database tables (https://eventespresso.com/topic/changed-permalink-structure-and-now-template-events-page-is-broken/#post-161545).

Could you walk us through how that was done?

Did you use the maintenance –> delete/reset –> permanently delete option?

Hi Lorenzo

in the first problem I had I did the following:

Maintenance > Reset Event Espresso Tables

but due to due to the cached pages it seems to me that all was still the same, to which I then did the following:

Maintenance > Permanently Delete All Event Espresso Data.

Afterwards I upgraded my license, downloaded almost all the add-ons and install them on my wp site, to which now I have this warning.

I have follow the instructions on the warning but the same warning has not gone away and I have not clicked on the dismiss button either. As i mentioned I have looked at the database and the table still there but I do not know if the same is empty of data or not. Is there a way for me to send you a screen shot?

Regards

Andy

Hi Andy, myself and a developer tried your steps and that table for the people add-on was removed. Could you follow up with us here so we can continue troubleshooting?

Hello again, could you try these steps:

1) Login to your WP dashboard

2) Ensure that Event Espresso 4 and its add-ons are running

3) Go to Event Espresso –> Maintenance –> Reset/delete. Then select the third option (last option) for a permanent delete. This will remove Event Espresso information and then deactivate the plugin.

Then try reactivating Event Espresso along with its add-ons.

Does the same message appear?

Hi Lorenzo

I have done as you said and the warning is not there anymore, although after checking the database again the table still there, will this be an issue or I can consider this matter solved?

Hi Andy,

If you still have the EE4 People Add-on activated, the table will be re-created when you activated EE4 and that Add-on.

If the error message is no longer displayed you should have no issues.
