Errors checking out with Square gateway

After many problems using the WP gateways Square plugin, I switched to the official EE square plugin. (previous thread)

I’m having trouble with the new one too. On the checkout page, after checking the Square gateway, I get the following alert:

“It appears that Square checkout JavaScript was not loaded properly! Please refresh the page and try again or contact support. Square payments will not be processed”

After a refresh I usually see the same text. If I click “Proceed to finalize registration” I get
“An error has occurred: No or incorrect nonce provided. Card nonce is required to process the transaction”

Hi there,

Go to Event Espresso -> Payment Methods -> Square (the EE version)

Does it show any errors at the top of the setting section?

Under ‘Square OAuth’ you should see a disconnect button, click that and then reconnect to your Square account again.

Does that fix the error you are getting currently?

I forgot to clarify that this is happening in debug mode. Live mode checks out. I’ve already tried that a few times switching between live & debug mode, which hasn’t made any difference. The issue is consistent across production, live, and local development environments while in debug.

Figured it out, I didn’t realize that I needed to reconnect to square after changing to debug mode. Oops!
