Hi
Some people trying to register on an agent have been getting this message at the checkout:
“You have passed a blank string for ‘card’. You should remove the ‘card’ parameter from your request or supply a non-blank value.”
Not everyone but a few and I don’t know what this means? Can you advise please?
Thankyou

Hi Brad,

Basically that error means Stripe is not being passed all of the details it needs.

Do you have any idea which browser these users are using?

Have you made any changes to the site since this was last reported? (Installed/Updated any plugins or themes?)

OK thanks. I will need to check with our Admin. on the dates when these issues occurred and figure it out from there. But at least you have explained what the error meant, thank you.

Hi
For one of registrants whose payment did not go through and it is marked as ‘Incomplete’ how can we take payment please? Within the ‘View Transaction’ there is a button “Apply Payment” what is this used for? Do we take and input the card details manually within our Stripe account and then click “Apply Payment”?
Thanks

The apply payment button allows you to apply a payment made outside of Event Espresso into the EE Transaction. It doesn’t matter where that payment has come from as EE just allows you to manually add a reference.

So in this case you have a couple of options, you can as you mentioned charge the user manually through Stripe, then manually apply that payment within EE and add the transaction ID Stripe gave you into that payment so you can reference it later if needed.

Or you could send the user a payment reminder email, that looks like this – http://take.ms/3y92C

The user can then use the link within the email to retry making a payment on their registration. Are they still having problems within making the payment themselves?

To send the above email you open up the transaction and you’ll see a ‘Send Payment Reminder’ button on the top right – http://take.ms/INSPd
