I’m receiving the following error on our Event Espresso installation. We have installed the HTTPS add-on as well. I tried to add an ‘s’ to the http, but it did not work. Please let me know how to resolve this issue.

Thank you.

This is coming from PayPal standard when we are testing “Pay by PayPal”.

Do you have a private SSL certificate installed for this domain? That would be the first step.

Check to see that you aren’t trying to use the PayPal PRO option. The standard PayPal option should take people away to PayPal’s site for a secure transaction.

Yes, we have a private SSL. I downloaded the HTTPS add-on for event espresso, added force SSL on the specific checkout pages and also selected Force SSL exclusively on the HTTPS addon page. We are set to PayPal standard. Any other ideas?

I can provide our website address if necessary.

Try deactivating the HTTPs add-on, and set the setting in the PayPal standard gateway to “Force return as Https”

Okay, tried that. I deactivated the plugin, then set PayPal standard to Force Return as Https and it did not work. Same error.

I have not seen this error before for the Standard Paypal gateway. Can you verify that the account being used is a standard PayPal account?

Is there another gateway or payment option (from Event Espresso or even another plugin) active?

I just encountered this also. I think I may have solved the issue via a pay pal setting within their profile.
