What conditions might trigger messages all to resend after a WordPress update?

Hi ICLE,

Can you see the resent messages in Event Espresso -> Messages -> Message activity?

Are they definitely duplicates?

On a big day we do several hundred messages. Upon WordPress update it appears we had 3K plus.

I have confirmed that messages that were created at 10:50PM the prior day were resent around 3AM the next day with our Sendgrid report.

I can’t think of any condition for this to happen, the query used to pull the messages to send explicitly checks for a specific message status to send, once sent they no longer have that status (otherwise EE would continually send them).

Do you create full site backups? If so do you have one from before you ran the update?

Or if you have a database backup that I can install locally so I can run the update and catch any requests to wp_mail which may highlight why this happened?
