Hi I am running event espresso 3.1.35 on our website http://www.simonfraserregion.ca (wordpress 3.7.1 just updated tonight). I have been trying to send out emails to the people attending one of our events and even though it says that it has emailed 156 participants no emails are being receieved by people. I have tried several times with the same result. I was also wondering if I should be updating my event espresso software at this time. I will need my license key reset as our website is saying we are not set up for automatic updates.
Your license key has been reset, please remove the key (cut) save the options, replace the key (paste) and then save options once more.
Regarding the emails, can you either run through a registration and check you receive the confirmation email or install a plugin suck as Check Email and test that WordPress can send mail please
Have you checked to see if a single email can be sent?
If so, then it is likely that your server is blocking mass emails. Event Espresso does not throttle email sending (it uses the WordPress email system) so your server may block the emails if there are too many.
I would suggest trying a service such as Mandrill or Postmarkapp, or discussing any mail limitations with your hosting provider.
I tried to send a single email to someone attending the event and it did not go through. I then tried to resend someone’s registration info and that email didn’t go through. I did a test registration and no email came through. I installed the check email plugin and I also didn’t receive an email when using that. This stopped working prior to me updating my wordpress and event espresso.
If the Check Email plugin isn’t even sending anything it sounds to me like a server issue, rather than Event Espresso.
You could try the WP SMTP Mail plugin to see if that helps.
