I have sent them, but I haven’t got to do that every time surely??
No, you don’t need to do them every time. They should work through the queue using WP_CRON and the fact that they don’t usually indicate an issue with WP_CRON itself, or your host has disabled it.
In a new tab on your browser, open up Dashboard -> Tools -> Site Health
Leave that open for at least 30 seconds to allow it to run through all of its tests.
Do you see anything above ‘scheduled events’ or ‘loopback requests’ showing up on that page?
I have got it working but so far, I haven’t received any emails in my inbox or spam folders
If you are manually processing the emails that’s a good way to confirm its working but not really a solution as you’ll end up having to always trigger the emails.
There is an option to switch EE to instantly send emails rather than working through a ‘queue system’ if you’d like to switch to that, or we can work through troubleshooting to find out what is happening?
The option is in Event Espresso -> Messages -> Settings.
Change ‘Generate and send message on’ to ‘On same request’.
