I have all the latest versions of the plugins. When a registration happens all the emails go out and are received. I can resend the registration email and that works.
My problem is that when I try to send an email to all the attendees or email an attendee it appears as if the emails are being sent but it is never received. Admin page indicates that email are being sent.
Can you advise what I should to check to get get this feature working?

Hi Maurice,

The first thing I would check is the spam folders. If all the other mail is going out and being received those mails should go out too they work in the same way as the automated ones.

Try manually adding an attendee and use your own email and then try and send the email to that one.

I would like to edit the registration confirmation page display to add a line to tell customers to check their spam folder for email confirmation. I am having trouble finding the code that displays the message:
“A confirmation email has been sent with additional details of your registration.”
Can you please point me to that file?

I solved my problem by putting the email address in the ee general settings settings in this way: from name

now it doesn’t say wordpress and it also doesn’t go into spam…at least for me.

These are on templates/payment_page.php lines 28 and 52. There is also a message that originates from add_attendees_to_db.php.

The best way to modify text strings is to create an english to english translation:

1) We recommend poedit for working on translation files: http://www.poedit.net/

2) After you install poedit, you can download a copy of event-espresso and open the /languages/event_espresso-en_US.po file in poedit.

3) Use the Find tool to pull up the text string you need to modify.

4) Change the string as shown:
enter image description here

5) Save, then upload the .po and newly generated .mo files to the wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/languages/ directory on your server.

Thank you Josh.
Maurice, thank you also. I do have that field set as our business name, but our spam rate seems to be about 30% with that, so prompting customers to check the spam folder will be valuable.

Cheers,
Bill

I’ve been testing out the Postmark service, along with their approved WordPress plugin for sending email notifications. It works great with Event Espresso and I’d recommend trying it out to see if you can lower that spam rate. One really nice thing about the Postmark service is you can log into your account to access all the email that’s been sent out through your site.

Thank you for that suggestion Josh. I will set that up today.

Postmark immediately solved the spam issue on the email services I was testing with. Thank you for the suggestion, Josh.
