The big feature/addon I really miss in EE4 is wait lists. When will that add-on be available?

Hi Paul,

While I would love to be able to tell you how long I think it will take to build a waitlist feature in Event Espresso 4, and where that fits within our current development timeframe, it would be a guess, which could then be taken as a promise. For this reason, we don’t give dates or estimates on when we think a feature for Event Espresso will be ready. I think you’ll agree that there are other companies that follow the same policy.

We have big plans and a long roadmap for Event Espresso 4. Since we’re a very small team we need to prioritize the work that goes into Event Espresso 4 next, and customer feedback is one of the factors that we use to plan out the roadmap. I’ve gone ahead and added your feedback to the Event Espresso 4 Waitlist feature ticket.

Along with that, we have a survey that I invite you to participate in. We are relying on the information from the survey results in order to prioritize the porting of EE3 features to EE4 and to plan out brand new features that people will want to use:

I appreciate what you are saying and understand that estimates start being taken as promises.

Maybe instead of dates, You could provide a road map of development priorities for the core EventEspresso and the add-ons? That way we could all see where our most wished-for add-ons fit into the development map priority. In my experience, the more you communicate with your clients the more supportive they’ll be.

I would also suggest that you need to spend money to make money. Meaning, it might make sense to invest in development to push things along more quickly so that people who are looking for alternatives for event registrations (like myself coming from the Eventbrite camp) will beat a path to your door. My $0.02.

I have completed the survey.

Paul

Hi Mr. Burwell,

We’re concerned more with producing high quality code right now as opposed to pushing out new features at a quicker pace. Thanks for the idea of spending more money on development though. Great idea, and we might take this as a hint that we should raise prices.

If higher prices, within reason, got things done sooner, I’m all for it.
