Hello,

I just purchased the latest version of EE and when i install it, it breaks the site and throws an error and the site is no longer accessible. I have uninstalled it several times and re-installed it but the error still appears. I do have the latest version of wordpress installed. Need help!!!!

Hi there,

We’ll need the error being thrown to know what is happening, if you check your servers error log do you see an error from Event Espresso there? (Look for the date/time when you activated/updated Event Espresso)

You’re host will usually have a section in your control panel to view error being thrown on your site, if not you can add this snippet:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/troubleshooting-checklist/#wpdebug

To your sites wp-config.php file.

You’ll likely already have something like define( 'WP_DEBUG', false ); in that file, the snippet I linked to replaces that single line and tells you site to log errors within a debug.log file which we can then view to see the error in question.

Here is the error

An EventEspresso\core\services\collections\CollectionLoaderException was thrown! code: CollectionLoader – __construct – 99
“The following error occurred during the creation and/or loading of this collection:
The “\EventEspresso\core\domain\entities\editor\blocks\.blocks” Class is either missing or invalid.”

That’s an odd error.

Are you downloading the .zip from your account page and uploading that to the site directly?

So the reason I find the error odd, is we don’t have a .blocks file anywhere within EE but on your site, it’s somehow trying to load one.

Would it be possible to take a look at the site? If so I’ll need all of the details requested on this form:
