People have different meanings when they say ‘when someone registers’, so may I ask exactly when the message should send?
The answer to your question is yes, and (depending on the context of the email you need to send) it’s likely very easy to do as you can just send the ‘Event Admin’ context (or a copy of it) to the venue when EE sends normally triggers it…. which email template you edit depends on the above.
For example, if its when the registration is ‘Approved’ (meaning paid in full or set to approved by the admin) then you’ll edit:
With the CC field, can the event venue email field be merged, or does it have to be hard coded?
I guess you could create multiple “registration approved” custom emails, and select it on the event admin – but I’d like to avoid this, as we run a lot of events at a lot of venues!
I’m asking because whilst the above method you mentioned is the ‘correct’ method with EE currently, you could add a custom message shortcode which could pull a custom field from the event… or better yet, a custom field from the Venue linked to the event and use that in the CC field.
But…. that gets a little more complicated if you use MER.
