EE4 Tickets not editable after creating event

I’ve noticed a new issue (it wasn’t there in my earlier use of EE4) whereby I can no longer properly edit an event that is already created.

Issues so far are:
1. Screen options gone
2. Edit menu bar at top of main content box gone
3. Ticket functions are frozen (nothing happens when clicking on settings, duplicate, trash).
4. The Create Ticket button just refreshes the page
5. The content in the main content box is fixed in ‘text mode’ and is in white, so the only way to see it is to select it.

There may be other issues, but this is what I can see so far. I have created a new event and it has full functionality until it is published, then it reverts to this incredibly limited functionality.

I’m also noticing new issues that I will detail in a separate topic (tickets not editable after creating event). Seems that one of the updates has broken something.

Hello,

You should definitely be able to edit an event using the Event Editor.

Do you see the same issue if you temporarily deactivate all plugins and reactivate only Event Espresso?

Yes… that did it. It was the plugin Slick Contact Forms that was causing the issues. Now deleted. Thanks for the tip.

Problem is back… I’ll try removing more plugins to see what is causing the conflict now

Please keep us updated. You might want to check the browsers console area as well to see if there are any JavaScript errors.

ok, so this time I deactivated wpMandrill which I installed to solve another EE4 problem related to the way emails were being generated with a full page of code at the top followed by the html content.

This has brought back editable functionality to the ticket for now. Not sure what to do about the emails though.

Hi Russell,

ok, so this time I deactivated wpMandrill which I installed to solve another EE4 problem related to the way emails were being generated with a full page of code at the top followed by the html content.

Using wpMandrill should stop that appearing. Have you modified the templates at all?

I am using wpMandrill on one of my test sites within issues within the Event Editor.

Can you tell me what theme are you currently using?

If you re-activate wpMandrill open up Chrome Developer Tools (Press F12 on chrome) and go to console, then open up the Event Editor, are any errors shown there?

I’m using a theme called Divi by Elegant Themes. My actual site is using a theme called Tour Package v2 (yaktrak.com), but this had major compatibility issues, so I reverted to using EE4 on a separate install of wordpress in its own folder with minimal plugins. (yaktrak.com/yak)

I just re-activated wpMandrill and the editability (of the event) died again.

I opened the console as suggested and there is a comment about using dppx instead of dpi, but doesn’t seem to be an error as such.

on a separate issue, wpMandrill only seemed to be partially successful at solving the code issue at the top of emails generated by the system. It worked when I tested it but when I got an email from a client who made a booking, it had code all over it again. Further testing required to check this… its very clunky to test as I have to keep creating dummy bookings to see what will happen and then go and delete these out of the admin system.

And no, did not modify the templates.

Hi Russell,

Would it be possible for you to send us a copy of the theme, or could you switch the theme to one of the defaults themes (twentyfourteen for example) and test if with wpMandrill installed the Event editor then works?

I’ve had no issues using wpMandrill with EE4 so just trying to narrow this down a little.

The messenger system has a test email function that will send an email to the address you specify. If you go to Event Espresso -> Messages. Edit the message type you would like to test, Select the context on the top (Attendees or Admin) then input the email address in the ‘Extra Actions’ section & click ‘Test Send’ – http://take.ms/NsEEg

Which email provider was this user using?
