I have a custom user (editor essentially) that – after following the above info – now has access to EE4. However, I REALLY do not want this user to be able to modify site settings, theme settings etc – that comes along with the manage_options core role.
Please – there must be an easier way to grant access to EE4 without giving full options access ??
Not currently. Once the EE4 WP User integration (name might change) addon has been fleshed out it should allow much finer control but currently it is still in an early alpha stage, awaiting some changes to the core plugin.
Not until EE 4.5 is released (it’s in beta if you want to try it out but I would not use it on a live site!).
At that point there will be a system in place where capabilities can be finely controlled by code or third party membership / roles plugins.
