My customer said when someone registers, when they receive the email confirming the sign up, the email does not tell them which event it is for.

Let me clarify that….

My customer is not receiving any email when people register. She only gets an email from Authorize.net saying they paid but no email from the website with registration info.

Hi Dorian,

Are the registrations being set to ‘Approved’ in EE after the payment has been made?

If you go to Event Espresso -> Messages.

Find the ‘Registration Approved’ message template in the list and click the ‘Event Admin’ link for that message. What is set within the ‘To’ field?

Find the registration

It was inactive for some reason.

Also, it only shows it is going to the registrant. The dropdown only allow you to select one option. How do you send it to the registrant and the admin?

Hello,

Here is how the registration approved message type appears by default in the messages overview screen:

http://cl.ly/182m0C1l3w1G

Blue for the recipients such as Event Admin and Registrant means they are enabled or active. Grey means that that are inactive.

What do you see on your end?

Primary Registrant is greyed out. Whats the difference between Primary Registrant and registrant?

Hi,

The primary registrant is the first person that is registering when there may be information collected for multiple guests.

Does your registration approved message type looks similar to this (http://cl.ly/182m0C1l3w1G)?

Can you click on the Event Admin for the registration approved message type and let us know what you see in the TO field?

Lorenzo

Okay great, I’d like to know more about your earlier feedback:

The dropdown only allow you to select one option.

You should be able to select the event admin recipient from the messages overview screen (Event Espresso –> Messages).

Can you click on the Event Admin for the registration approved message type and let us know what you see in the TO field?

[EVENT_AUTHOR_FORMATTED_EMAIL]

Elizabeth

She said they are getting 2 emails now per registration.

So the Event Admin context has [EVENT_AUTHOR_FORMATTED_EMAIL] within the TO field.

What is set within the TO field for the Registrant context?

She said they are getting 2 emails now per registration.

2 of exactly the same email or 2 different emails?

Elizabeth

She is getting:

One says “your event registration details” and the other says “event registration details”

Sounds like they are receiving both the Event Admin and the Registrant email.

Are they registering themselves and using the same email address to register as they have set as the admin email?

Can you answer this please:

So the Event Admin context has [EVENT_AUTHOR_FORMATTED_EMAIL] within the TO field.

What is set within the TO field for the Registrant context?

She said she did not register them.

I replied earlier with it: Registration Approved: [EVENT_AUTHOR_FORMATTED_EMAIL]

Lorenzo asked what the ‘Event Admin’ context used, I’m asking about the Registrant context.

Messages can have different contexts, as in the Registration Approved message template is sent to the Event Admin and the Registrant (Primary Registrant is disabled), its still a ‘Registration Approved’ message type but each one can be completely different. So each of those ‘contexts’ have their own setup within the Registration Approved message type.

For more details on working with message contexts read here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/messages-system-working-with-message-contexts/

So view the Event Admin message context and see what is set in the TO field (you previously stated this is [EVENT_AUTHOR_FORMATTED_EMAIL] but I’ll run through both)

Event Admin – http://take.ms/sqsW7
Event Admin context setup – http://take.ms/XGhJf
It should be [EVENT_AUTHOR_FORMATTED_EMAIL] for this context.

Now view the Registrant context – http://take.ms/CzOdk
What is set within the TO field – http://take.ms/0RLha
It should be [RECIPIENT_EMAIL] for this context.#

If you have made no changes to the default templates you could just reset the Registration Approved message type back to the default using the ‘Reset templates’ button – http://take.ms/esNf0

(Note that button resets all ‘contexts’ for the current message type, in this case ‘Registration Approved’ back to default)
