EE4 Recurring Events

I’ve seen this listed and talked about now for over 2 years. What is the actual status of the EE4 recurring events plugin? Like all things, it’s certainly understood that it’s complex and requires time. But, being multiple years – that’s more than enough time to iron out any kinks.

Hi Aaron,

First, the Recurring events plugins wasn’t started until a year ago, when an initial prototype was built. At that time a few months of development went into building a working prototype. With the prototype it was found that it won’t work on most servers due to technical limitations.

What’s happened since then is the ticket & datetime editor has undergone a complete overhaul with a new tech stack, similar to how the new WordPress editor (aka Gutenberg) was built. Simply put, the new tech stack allows for having potentially hundreds of different tickets and datetimes within an event. Which will allow for recurring events even on shared servers.
