Is there a straight upgrade from EE3 3.1.36.5.P to 4.2.7.P? Can I install on the top of EE3 eco-system? I have almost 200 events created in EE3, would like to keep the history, etc.

Hi Jake,
EE4 has been designed to migrate your data from EE3 to EE4 but will also leave your EE3 tables in their current state meaning that your current EE3 data will always be available within EE3 should you chose to go back. (only your current EE3 data is available within EE3, events and attendees from EE4 will NOT be available within EE3 should you switch back)
Once you activate EE4 for the first time you will be asked if you would like to Migrate your EE3 data to EE4. If you do so all of your previous events/attendees will be migrated.
We recommend first creating a Full Site Backup, then cloning the site either locally or to a live development server and performing the migration there first to check for any issues.
EE4 changes some of the core shortcodes used within the site, so if you upgrade to EE4 than decieded to go back to EE3, you’ll need to manually alter those shortcodes back to the EE3 equivalents.
Just to confirm have you checked that EE4 currently has all of the features you require? For example EE4 does not currently support any of EE3’s Add-ons there is also currently no ‘Promo’ feature within EE4 at this time.
