Do you happen to know if there is a way to not allow promo codes on a single event? On EE3 we could remove them per event.

Hi Dorian,
Are you using codeless promotion codes or coded?
Do you have the option ‘Apply Promo to ALL Scope Items’ set to yes?

Actual when in a promo code i see: “Check off the specific events that this promotion will be applied to”
Issue is:
1: If you select ALL, it selects existing ones but what about when adding new events? You have to keep going in a selecting all? Thats a pain.
2: Also, it only show 10 at a time, so you have to keep going to each page and selecting all.
3: If you don’t select any does it default to all?

If you use this option in the promotions editor:

…then selecting events manually won’t be needed. Try creating a test promotion and select that option and then save changes.
You’ll then be able to apply it to any events.

Does it auto check them all because what if there are events we don’t want a promo code used on?

Hi Dorian,
That option enables the promotion for all current and future events.
If there are events that you do not want to be available, then you would need to manually select through the events widget in the right area of the promotions editor instead of using that option.

But if that option is enabled are you still able to also manually do it for a single event?

No, you select which events the promo code applies to within the promo code itself, not the event.
If you enable the ‘Apply Promo to ALL Scope Items’ then the promo code applies to all events.
Currently if you do not want the promo code to apply to all events then you’ll need to leave that set to No and manually select the events you wish the promo code to valid for. This also means if you add additional events that you want to use the promo code on you’ll need to update the event selection.
