This week the Event Espresso plugin updated and now when I go in and try and edit an event or add an event you can only add a title and then there is nothing else you can do. The first box where you can add media or a document, won’t allow you to do anything and below that everything is blank so you can’t create an event. Pages that were already existing on the site and have the shortcode embedded seem to work but I can’t do anything with the actual event or add a new event. My technical support person has advised that the admin pages say they no longer exist, and they are pointing to an incorrect URL. Would going back to the previous version of EE4 fix this? I looked for a previous core download but can’t find anything other than what I am running which is 5.0.18.p. Thanks! |

Hi Vickie, I am also, using the latest version on my local installation without any issues, can you please let me know the system configurations that you are using for the website? Also, please perform a troubleshooting to see if there is any other conflict: |

Hi there,
If this was indeed the case and EE was now missing files to loa pages etc, we have reports of this from everyone. It sounds like there’s a fatal error being thrown on your site and we’ll need that error to be able to move forward. Do you have access to the server error logs? Your host will usually have a section you can view them within your control panel. Look for anything with ‘fatal error’ and add that here. |
|
Here are some of the errors from today. I don’t see a Fatal error. But here is a link to the url https://firstpreskingsport.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Screenshot-EE4.pdf I’ve also copied in the errors that were listed in the emails I received this morning. |

Ok, I’ve seen that fatal error before. Its a dependency issue, our MailChimp add-on is expecting version X of a 3rd party library (GuzzleHTTP) and UpDraftPlus is loading a really old version before we can add ours. Right now the only way around that is to deactivate UpDraft (or the MailChimp add-on). So try the editor with the updraftplus plugin disabled, does it work then? |
|
The editor does work when Updraft is disabled. If I enable it and disable the Mailchimp add-on the editor works. My updraft plus is a paid plugin like EE4 and it does a really good job with backups. What happens if I leave the MailChimp add-on deactivated. Do paying customers no longer receive an email about their tickets? Or would email work through my WP Mail SMPT Pro Plugin? |
|
Be that as it may it’s loading a really old dependency on routes that ideally it should be loading on. Updraft loads ##6.5.8 – 2022-06-20 Even our MailChimp add-on isn’t loading the latest version, but anything trying to use Guzzle is going to conflict. Updraft ideally shouldn’t be running on EE’s admin page routes as there’s nothing for it to do there, so its loading, adding dependencies, causing this conflict to then not do anything.
Yes, they will still receive their tickets, the MailChimp add-on adds registrations to Newsletter/Campaigns you have set up at MailChimp.com, ticket notices etc are separate and yes they are sent through SMTP. |

Thank you! This information is very helpful and useful! |
