EE4: New attendee registration approval pending notification & event e-mail

Hi, not sure if that’s the best place for suggesting improvements of EE4 (or is there a page dedicated to that), however now that I moved from EE3 to EE4 I have noticed that 2 features seem to be missing and, unfortunately, I think they are pretty critical ones:

-> New attendee registration approval pending notification (adding and attendee):
On EE3 both the registrant and the event admin were receiving a notification when a new registration request (for events that required pre-approval – i.e. on EE4 the ones where the default status is “not approved”) was made. The one to the admin showing who registered, the one for the attendee confirming that the request was received and that they will hear back soon. Apparently they seem to be missing on EE4… are you planning to get them back soon? I think that they are critically important: for the attendee (as an extra confirmation compared to what they seen on screen + a way to get in touch with us) but especially for the admin, since… well, I can’t tell my colleague in charge of tracking and approving registration that now she has to reload the page every time since she won’t get automatic notification any longer… 🙁

-> Event alternative e-mail
On EE3 it was possible to set up a specific e-mail address for each event, which was a really useful feature since, as we are running multiple and different events, different persons are in charge of those / different e-mail addresses are used for different events. Having everything being sent from a single address for all events instead may be pretty problematic and not so practical. Since there is the already the option to set a specific telephone number for an event, can an e-mail field be (re)introduced both for contact reference for attendees and as sender’s address?

Thanks in advance for your feedback, I hope that those two very useful (and quite critical) features of EE3 will be reintroduced soon also in EE4.

Hi, thanks for sharing feedback.

On your first comment, I’ve created an enhancement request for the registration pending pre-approval message type.

All notifications in Event Espresso 4 are managed through the message system. You can create a custom email for each event and then edit the event admin message type and then add an extra email. Here is an example:

[CO_EMAIL],mybusiness@example.com

After you save, you can go to the event via the event editor and then assign the custom email via the notifications area towards the end of the page.

Hello again, the Not Approved Registration message type can be used:

You would need to reactivate the Event Admin recipient by clicking on it and entering a shortcode in the TO field and saving changes.

Here is an example that would work for the email set in the your organization page:

[CO_EMAIL]

[EVENT_AUTHOR_EMAIL] could also be used to send notifications to the event creator / event author.
